MUTO

Realtime generative A/V installation, 2025

Building on the visual system developed in the collaborative 'Project O', the piece was further developed as a solo project into a realtime generative audiovisual installation. „Muto“ (Latin for „I change,“ „I move,“ or „I shift“) serves here as a synonym for mutation and the inevitability of transformation. Algorithmically generated particles and self-modulating sound patches form a dynamic, singular system that perpetually renews itself around a central visual void.

The system transparently exposes its elementary units: simple points of light that, over time and across space, self-organize into increasingly complex formations rich in association. It is the same primordial substance, endlessly recombined. Even when the unfamiliar emerges — strange, alien, sublime — it remains strangely close. Everything that takes shape, takes shape from something known — and in that, the unknown seems to become less distant.

„MUTO“ is an artistic meditation, a metamorphosis of the unknown, a dissociative experience, an abstract entity that shifts, reconfigures, and continuously evolves within its own parameters.
