Spatial Live A/V Performance, 2024

-> Premiere: DEC 16th 2024, as part of the "Nerd Nights" event series, hostet by institute for sonic wellfare, Dom im Berg, Graz
-> Duration: 35min

"Symptoms" is an audiovisual immersive live performance by Peter Hutter, which premiered on December 16 at Dom im Berg, Graz, as part of the "Nerd Nights" event series. The performance thrives on the interplay between 3D sound and visuals. Four rear-projection screens are arranged within an ambisonics ring. This configuration creates a space that visitors can experience from both inside and outside. The visuals consist of generative particle systems linked to the ambisonics system. The behavior of the stereo panners and sound sources directly influences the projections. Together, the sound design and projections create the impression of an abstract life form seemingly searching for its structure. The work explores expansion and compression: from noise, the individual elements increasingly organize themselves into complex structures and landscapes. "Symptoms" experiments with associations and shifts in context between what is heard and (partially) seen.
